About and method
Resell Fees is a free calculator for people selling things in the UK on eBay, Vinted, or for a PayPal payment. It shows what reaches your account after fees, and what to charge if you want to keep a set amount.
It isn't connected to PayPal, eBay or Vinted, and isn't tax or financial advice.
Where the figures come from
Every rate comes from the platform's own UK fee page. They were last checked on 25 October 2026.
- PayPal merchant fees (page updated 1 October 2026)
- eBay selling fees for private sellers
- eBay fees for business sellers (page updated 30 September 2026)
- Vinted fee help page
How the sums work
PayPal: fee = payment × (2.9% + any international rate) + 30p. To find what to charge, the calculator works backwards from the amount you want and rounds up to the penny.
eBay business: the final value fee is the category rate applied to the order total (item plus postage), with tiered categories charging each slice of the total at its own rate. Then it adds the per-order fee, the 0.35% regulatory operating fee, any international fee and 20% VAT. If you tick VAT-registered, VAT is shown but not counted, because you can usually reclaim it.
eBay private: no selling fees on a UK sale, 3% of the total for an international buyer.
Vinted: the seller pays nothing. The buyer fee is shown as a range using Vinted's own description (3% to 8% plus 30p to 80p), because Vinted sets the exact amount per order.
Each fee line is rounded to the penny, which can leave a penny or two of difference from a platform statement.
What it leaves out
Currency conversion, promoted listings and listing upgrades, eBay Motors, Vinted Bumps and other paid extras, PayPal QR code and volume rates, and the reduced 10p per-order fee on some eBay collectables and home listings.
